Jim GreinerJim Greiner is a multiple award-winning, internationally acclaimed percussionist, corporate drumming pioneer, educator, inspirational speaker and drum circle/community drumming leader. Jim performs, teaches and conducts interactive corporate and community drumming programs worldwide from his base in Santa Cruz, in the San Francisco/Monterey Bay Area of California.

He has been playing hand drums and percussion instruments since 1970, including two years in Africa where he was deeply moved by the power of group drumming to build community bonds, invigorate and focus people, release stress and enhance a spirit of celebration.

Jim plays Congas, Bongos, Timbales, Djembe, Ashiko, Doumbek/Darabouka, Shekere and other shakers, Udu, claves, bells & blocks, cymbals & gongs and percussion sound effects. He performs and does recording sessions in a wide range of musical styles including contemporary & traditional Caribbean & African, Rock, Funk, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Jazz and Pop.

His Rhythm Power® interactive workshops, corporate and conference programs, instructional videos and percussion playing have won numerous awards, accolades and recognition, including seven Drum! Magazine Reader’s Polls Awards.

Jim has been featured in articles by the international Percussive Arts Society, Drum! Magazine, Drum Business Magazine, Meetings West Magazine, New Age Retailer, local newspapers throughout North America and Europe, and other publications, as well as in broadcasts on PBS, NPR, the Discovery Channel – South America, the BBC, and others.
